Send your official high school transcript or GED. Transfer students must send transcripts from every college attended.
Complete Placement
Most students complete a placement assessment before registering for 5+ credit hours. ACT scores of 17+ are also accepted.

WHAT YOU NEED
New Students
- No minimum GPA for general admission
- Rolling admissions — no application deadline
- High school transcript or GED required
- Placement assessment before registering for 5+ credit hours
- Complete ORI 101 (Freshman Academy) your first semester
- Register through MyLawson once admitted
Transfer Students
- Official transcripts from every college attended
- D grades from other institutions are not accepted for transfer credit
- Transfer GPA below 2.0 → Academic Probation at enrollment
- At least 25% of credit hours must be completed at Lawson State
- AP, CLEP, DANTES, and military credit accepted (up to 25%)
- Alabama STARS protects your credits across all ACCS colleges
Dual Enrollment
- Open to 10th–12th grade students
- Minimum 2.5 GPA required
- ACCS grant funding — tuition may be fully waived
- 51 courses across 8+ career pathways
- Online, virtual, or in-person options
- Accelerated High School track for 11th–12th graders (3.0+ GPA)
Veterans & Military
- VA-approved — GI Bill® Chapters 33, 30, 31, 35 accepted
- MyCAA scholarships for eligible military spouses
- VA Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31) available
- Military transcript evaluation — ACE/JST credits applied
- Priority registration for active-duty and veterans
- School Certifying Official (SCO) on campus
